Oborevwori, who is also the Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly was dragged to court over allegations that he is parading forged WAEC certificate in his bid to actualise his governorship ambition.

More incriminating evidences have emerged against the Delta State governor, Ifeanyi Okowa’s stooge, who is also the Peoples Democratic Party governorship candidate, Sheriff Oborevwori, in his ongoing legal battle over certificate forgery.

Oborevwori, who is also the Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly was dragged to court over allegations that he is parading forged WAEC certificate in his bid to actualise his governorship ambition.

Taiwo Taiwo, a justice of a Federal High Court in Abuja, had in July 2022, disqualified Oborevwori for submitting false information to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to back his nomination as PDP’s candidate.

The judge subsequently directed INEC and the PDP to recognize the plaintiff as candidate of the PDP in the 2023 governorship election in Delta State.

Olorogun David Edevbie, a former Commissioner of Finance under former Governor James Ibori, who came second in the primary had contended Oborevwori’s participation in the primary on the grounds of alleged discrepancies in his academic qualifications as well as his age.

He specifically urged the court to bar the PDP from submitting the Assembly Speaker’s name as the flag bearer of the party.

However, not satisfied with the verdict, Oborevwori filed an appeal through his lawyer, Joe Agi.

A forensic report which was part of police investigation into the allegations obtained by SaharaReporters during the weekend showed that there were discrepancies in the Assembly Speaker’s certificate.

According to the report, Oborevwori is not the owner of the certificate he claims to be his own.

Though genuine, forensic investigation showed that the WAEC certificate belongs to his family member identified as Mr. Francis Oborevwori.

Francis was born in 1979 and wrote the WAEC examination in 1999 whereas Sheriff Oborevwori was born in 1963 and was 36 years-old in 1999.

“That the passport photographs marked exhibit A and B are single passport photograph of one person made at a time and lifted from Document marked A, and place on the Document marked B at different period,” part of the report read.

“The passport photograph marked exhibit C-C1 is not the same person in the passport photographs marked exhibit A and B.

“The passport photographs marked exhibit A, B and C-C1 are different individual passport photographs.”

Confirming the report to SaharaReporters, a police source added, “Governor Okowa has been putting pressure on the Inspector General of Police office after thorogh forensic investigation had been conducted by the police on the order court established that the PDP disqualified candidate, Sheriff Oborevwori is not the owner of the certificate he claims to be his own.

“We interviewed about nine person as well who write WAEC in that school in 1999 and they all claimed he wasn’t their classmate, the only person who they wrote exam together was Francis.”
