The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike has approved the appointment of Barrister Benedict Daudu as his Senior Special Assistant on Legal and Multi-Lateral Cooperation.

Benedict is reportedly the son of the former National President of Nigeria Bar Association (NBA), Joseph Daudu (SAN).

Director Press in the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), Anthony Ogunleye disclosed in an official statement on Tuesday.

Ogunleye said the appointment takes immediate effect.

According to him, the appointment was based on the fact that the appointee has outstanding legal expertise, an extensive academic background, and a profound understanding of key policy issues.

His father, Joseph, is a prominent Nigerian Jurist, Bencher and the Principal Partner J B Daudu and Co.

The 63-year-old is from Ogori-Magongo local government area of Kogi State and was called to the bar in 1980 but attained the rank of SAN in 1995.

Wike had earlier appointed the son of a former Katsina state governor, Aminu Masari, as one of the Mandate Secretaries in the FCTA.
