YENAGOA / The agenda and image postulated by Pastor Ayogoi Yaibimi Simeon for the people of Southern Ijaw Constituency 1 as we look ahead into the next House of Assembly, is an outstanding leader who is ready to serve and empower others.
Born on January 3, 1980 into the families of Late Pa Simon Ayogoi of Goinma and Late Madam Adi Garr Okorowanta of Okori-ama all in Amasoma, Pastor Ayogoi Yaibimi Simeon who prides himself as born a leader and distinguished himself in various leadership positions right from his teenage days, has declared his intention to contest the forthcoming Bayelsa House of Assembly elections to represent Southern Ijaw constituency 1.
Pastor Yaibimi Ayogoi was a Senior Boy while he attended Ogoni Central Primary school from 1987-1992, where he passed his first school leaving exams. He was then admitted to the Government Secondary School Amassoma from 1992 to 1998. While in Secondary School he excelled academically and was appointed class prefect and later Regulator when he was in JSS3. He was later appointed the Senior Prefect Boys(SP) of Government Secondary School Amassoma in 1998.
Motivated by his love for education and self development, Yaibimi Ayogoi proceeded to the University of Calabar and obtained a Diploma in Business Administration on self sponsorship from 1999-2001.
Upon his graduation and successful completion of the mandatory one year Industrial Training in Calabar, he went further to Benson Idahosa University Benin in Benin City, still on self sponsorship in and graduated with Bsc degree in Business Administration from 2003-2006.
Pastor Ayogoi was posted to Jos, Plateau State in 2008 to serve in the mandatory one year National Youth Service Corps.
A Personal man with an insatiable appetite for knowledge and self determination, Ayogoi Yaibimi Simeon enrolled into the prestigious University of Nigeria, Nsukka and obtained a Masters degree also in Business Administration between 2009 and 2011. He is presently half way into his Phd program also in University of Nigeria.
In course of his academic voyage as a student, Pastor Ayogoi Yaibimi Simeon was the NUBSS Chapter President in Benson Idahosa university Benin from 2003 to 2006. He was also the Pioneer President of Amassoma Youth development Association in Yenagoa from 2000 to 2005, and Student Union Secretary-General of the University of Calabar, Yenagoa study center, between 2000 and 2001 respectively. While serving as a NUBSS Senator, Pastor Ayogoi introduced NUBSS to all private Universities in the country and moved for the payment of Bursaries to all Private University undergraduates.
In 2012 governorship elections, Pastor Ayogoi served as the Coordinator of Keme to Keme For Dickson in Southern Ijaw Ward 9 in Amassoma. He also doubled as the Director of Media in Constituency 1 Restoration Campaign Team and inthis capacity, anchored the campaign visits of His Excellency, Gov. Seriake Dickson’s visits to Amassoma as Master of Ceremonies.
A grassroot politician to the core, Pastor Ayogoi contested and won elections during the 2012 Congresses of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to represent Ward 9 in Southern Ijaw LGA as the Youth Leader.
There’s no gain saying the fact that Pastor Ayogoi is an experienced administrator and consummate politician who is also a gifted strategist. He was called upon to serve as Personal Assistant (PA) to Mr. Akpoebidei Alamieyeseigha who was the Honourable Commissioner for Youth Development and later Transport from April 2012 till February 2016.
He had earlier in his political life contested for Councillor but has not been successful, and still remains loyal and faithful to the cause of the party and has served almost all stakeholders and leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party.
Pastor Ayogoi is also the convener and Leader of the Amassoma Elites Youths team and General Secretary of the Amassoma Political Stakeholders Forum. He is called of God and ordained as a Pastor for the past 6 years.
Pastor Ayogoi is presently working as Special Assistant in the Governor’s office, and Political Desk Officer to the Chief of staff, Government House, Yenagoa. And he’s happily married with 4 children.
