Ajimobi has wiped away my tears – Ayefele says as Oyo governor rebuilds Music House

The proprietor of Music House, Yinka Ayefele, on Tuesday, January 8, paid a visit of gratitude to Governor Abiola Ajimobi after an agreement between him and the state government after the reconstruction of musician’s building.

Nigerian Tribune reported that the visit witnessed the final consolidation of an agreement reached between the two parties after the partial demolition of the edifice by the state government for contravention of the approved building plan.

The joint committee of the two parties had recommended that the frontage of the building be remodelled to become the back of the building, while the former back of the building be converted to the frontage.

According to the agreement, the frontage fence line of the building will be reduced by 1.5m, and the parking lots towards the end of the building close to the entrance of Lagelu Estate will be reduced by 10.9m for the sake of visibility.

In his statement of gratitude to Governor Ajimobi, Ayefele said: “We say a big thank you to our father, a great leader, a great example to this generation and to also appreciate the good people working the governor especially the committee constituted that worked on the partial demolition of Music House.

“On a compassionate ground, His Excellency helped me personally because I have been down emotionally since the incident but I thank God for a day like this that God through His Excellency, has wiped away my sorrow.”

On his part, Ajimobi commended Ayefele for the noteworthy role he played in coordinating communication between the two parties that led to the rebuilding of Music House.

Ajimobi revealed that the state government’s resolve to help financially in rebuilding the house was because the Oyo bureau of physical planning and development control established that Music House violated urban planning laws.

Meanwhile, TRACKNEWS.NG reported that the Oyo state government had revealed its decision to rebuild the music studio of Ayefele which was demolished in 2018.

The government said that the decision to help Ayefele rebuild his studio was informed by the musician’s appeal to the state government as well as his admittance of breach of procedures in the construction of the building.
