Bayelsa West: Dickson Emerges PDP Senatorial Candidate

TRACKING____The Director General of the Bayelsa West Senatorial Campaign Organization, Hon. Fyneman Wilson has expressed overwhelming satisfaction over the emergence of former Governor of Bayelsa State, Hon. Henry Seriake Dickson as the Senatorial Candidate of the PDP for the October 31, 2020 senatorial Bye- election, in the just concluded primary election held at Sagbama Town.

In a statement signed by the Director of Publicity, Ebikebina Okorotie, Fyneman Wilson said that the emergence of Dickson is a true testament of his popularity, acceptability and competence. In his words “ Dickson is a great achiever, the footprints of his legacies while as Governor of Bayelsa State is very visible.

“Dickson has been very vocal and consistent in championing the cause of the Izon Nation. His track record of success and experience in legislative matters makes him very qualified to represent the people of Bayelsa West in the Senate”.

Speaking further, Fyneman said with Dickson at the Senate, Bayelsa will be sufficiently represented and the people of Bayelsa West can count on him to take on national issues that will be of great benefit to not only Bayelsa State but the Ijaw Nation.

Fyneman used the opportunity to thank the elders of the party, critical stakeholders, delegates, women and youth groups for nominating Dickson as the candidate of the PDP, while also calling on the political class to respect the existing zoning arrangement in the Bayelsa West Senatorial District, in order to consolidate the bond of love and peace in the area.

“Let me also thank the youth, women, traditional rulers and other leaders who defied the heavy down pour and came out massively to give Dickson a rousing welcome in a carnival- like ceremony that lasted for hour, Fyneman said.

Fyneman Wilson was also full of appreciation to Dickson for formally opening the Bayelsa West Senatorial Campaign office in Sagbama with a charge to the campaign organization to perfect plans to commence campaigns soon, while also expressing delight over the harmonious working relationship he enjoys from directors and members of the campaign team.

Speaking at the event, Dickson promised to uphold the ideals of the PDP and vigorously pursue the Ijaw agenda in the Nigerian State, noting also that the voice of the Ijaw nation must be heard for the purpose of attracting what belongs to Bayelsa and the Izon nation to our land. Dickson pledged to work closely with Governor Douye Diri to attract the Federal Government’s presence in terms of development to Bayelsa State, while thanking the delegates for his nomination as the Senatorial flag bearer of the PDP.
