Breaking: Nigerian Senate urges FG to probe disappearance of Army general, condemn act

The Nigerian Senate has asked the federal government to investigate the disappearance of a retired army general who was recently declared missing.

Major General Idris Alkali (retd) was the immediate past chief of administration, Army headquarters, Abuja, was declared missing on September 3. He was said to have gone missing on his way to Bauchi after leaving Abuja.

Consequently, following his disapearance, the senate on Wednesday, October 10, urge the federal government to “set up an investigate panel of enquiries to examine and determine the remote and immediate circumstances surrounding the dumping of cars in the ponds in DU District.

“Identify and interrogate possible suspects in this dastardly act and ensure that the perpetrators face the full wrath of the law to serve as deterrence to other criminally minded persons in the strongest possible terms.

“Condemn the act and urge all the surrounding communities (DU axis) to cooperate with security agencies to uncover this crime and criminality; and

“Urge the security agencies to intensify effort towards finding Major General I. M Alkali and other missing Nigerians.”
