Brilliant Female Senator, Olujimi Takes Over Akpabio’s Seat As NASS Resumes
The new Senate minority leader, Senator Biodun Olujimi (PDP, Ekiti South), on Tuesday took over her seat, having replaced the former minority leader, Senator Godswill Akpabio, who recently left the PDP for APC.
Olujimi had been the deputy minority whip.
Since Akpabio’s departure to the APC, his position became vacant, although the Senate had been on recess until its resumption yesterday.
At the resumption of plenary, Olujimi was seen occupying Akpabio’s seat, a development that gave credence to speculations that she was nominated to take over as minority leader.
She becomes the second woman to hold the position after Senator Florence Ita-Giwa who held the position briefly in the 4th Senate.
