TRACKING____A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo State, Yaya Hussein Garba, yesterday gave reasons the former Secretary to the Edo State Government (SSG), Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, is the preferred choice to succeed Governor Godwin Obaseki as the governor in the forthcoming governorship poll in the state.
This was as he reiterated that Pastor Ize-Iyamu’s popularity, readiness to serve the people, industry and reach could not be matched by any other person.
“He is a man, who after 12 years he left office he still commands such huge followership. Have you asked yourself what is the reason behind this? Pastor Ize-Iyamu is a man who is passionate about Edo State, and who is ever ready to offer helping hand to the needy or anyone from any part of the state,” he said.
Garba, however, described as strange the recent mayhem in Auchi, Headquarters of Etsako West Local Government Area of the state, where some hoodlums set ablaze political campaign podium and vehicles, as well as other equipment meant for APC rally in Edo North Senatorial district of the state.
“It is a strange development in politics in Etsako land. What happened in the early hours of 25th January, 2020 in Auchi is strange.
It is condemnable and it is what all sane politician, government or human being should condemn,” he stressed.

According to him, Ize-Iyamu is a man who believes so much in Edo State project; that everything he owns and does is in Edo State and towards the development of the people. He is a man who believes he is happier staying in Edo State than any other state or outside the country.”
He is a man who wants a better Edo State. He is a man who is sensible to the plight of the people. And, for those reasons everybody is queuing behind him.

“We are hoping that with the help of Edo people, Ize-Iyamu will become the next governor of Edo State so that he will be able to actualise that dream for Edo people and for the Edo nation,” Garba added.
