Eid-el-Kabir: FG declares Thursday, Friday public holidays

TRACKING___The Federal Government, through the Ministry of Interior has declared Thursday and Friday, July 30 and 31, 2020 as public holidays to stamp this year’s Eid-el-Kabir celebrations.

The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, Georgina Ehuriah, made the information known on Tuesday, Daily Times gathered.

The Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, while making the declaration on behalf of the government, complimented Muslim steadfast and all Nigerians – both at home and abroad – on the event.

The announcement reads, “He called on the Muslims to continue to imbibe the spirit of love, peace, kindness and sacrifice, as exemplified by the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon Him) and to also use the period to pray for peace, unity, prosperity and the stability of the country especially as the world is witnessing global health challenges caused by COVID-19 pandemic,”

As indicated by the announcement, Mr Aregbesola guaranteed that the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari is completely dedicated to fighting the scourge with the participation of every Nigerians.

He accentuated that his administration would keep on cultivating serene conjunction, national union and steadiness in its walk towards realizing the true abilities of the nation.
