Group Hails PMB For Signing Disability Bill
TRACKING>>A group of persons living with disabilities, under the aegis of Coalition of Disability Organisations have commended President Muhammadu Buhari for signing the Disability Bill into law.
Speaking during a thanks giving service at the Liberty Chapel Seventh-Day Adventist, Abuja, convener of the group, David Anyaele, noted that God has been faithful after 18 years of struggle.
Anyaele pointed out that persons living with disabilities in Nigeria now have an Act that would protect them and give them their rightful position in the society without discrimination.
He however charged governments and stakeholders to do everything possible to ensure the implementation of this Act without reservations for the benefits of the common Nigerians and to facilitate national development, adding that seven states have signed the Disability Bill into law, but very few have started implementing them.
