How Ooni of Ife put smile on corn seller’s face.
TRACKING____IT is okay to dream – some dreams actually come true. The dream of a 17-year-old corn seller, Samuel, has come true after meeting Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi.
But the boy didn’t just stay idle while dreaming. Passionate about drawing, he drew a pencil portrait of the Ooni and it turned out to be a social media sensation.
After the Oba got wind of the drawing, he invited the lad to his palace and offered to sponsor his education to university level. The king also assured him that he would offer him a job in his palace after graduation.
When it comes to the show of generosity, among Nigerian traditional rulers, Oba Ogunwusi is a leader. Many people have benefited from his philanthropy and he did that cheerfully even before mounting the throne.
