Just In: APC suspends campaign in Edo over auto crash

TRACKING____The All Progressives Congress (APC) has suspended its campaign in Edo State following an auto crash which claimed many party chieftains and supporters.

Daily Times reports that the accident occurred close to Oluku Junction, near Benin on Benin-Lagos Road on Tuesday, September 1.

Edo APC, through chairman of its Media Campaign Council, Prince John Mayaki, disclosed before Oluku junction, a trailer ran into the travelling campaign entourage of top chieftains of the APC, which it said led to the loss of lives.

It condoled with the families of the victims, stressing they were not alone in their grief.

It promised to do everything within its powers to ameliorate their grief.

While reaching out to families of the policemen involved in the accident, it assured that it would never forget their supreme sacrifice.

Edo APC called on everyone to pray for souls of dead and against the recurrence of such tragedy.

Daily Times earlier reported that Adams Oshiomhole, former APC National Chairman reportedly escaped a close shave with death after his convoy was reportedly attacked by a group of armed hostiles.

The two policemen were killed during the attack on Oshiomhole’s convoy, while the surviving security agents bravely fought off the assailants whose motive remains unclear as at the time of filing this report.
