A member of the House of Representatives, Nkeiru Onyejeocha, from Abia state, has reportedly dumped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and joined the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Details of the defection had not been made known at the time of this report.

Nkeiru Onyejeocha, a female lawmaker, is the chairman of the House committee on aviation.

The action was, however, confirmed by Order Paper, which reported: “BREAKING: Rep. Nkeiru Onyejeocha, from Abia state, chairman, House of Representatives committee on aviation, has announced her defection from Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), to the All Progressive Congress (APC).”

Channels Television reports that Okorocha spoke in Daura, Katsina state when he led other APC governors to visit President Muhammadu Buhari to felicitate with him as Muslims celebrated Eid-el Kabir.

TRACKNEWS. N also reported that a member of the House of Representatives, Danlami Kurfi, described the defection of lawmakers of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Tuesday, July 24, as good riddance to bad rubbish.

The lawmaker representing Kurfi and Dutsinma federal constituency in Katsina state said defection cannot in any way hinder President Muhammadu Buhari’s bid for re-election in 2019.
