Sylva for oil, gas law conference
TRACKING____MINISTER of State for Petroleum Resources Chief Timipre Sylva will be the special guest of honour at the Fourth Lawyers in Oil and Gas Conference.
Its theme is 10 years of the Nigerian Oil and Gas Industry Content Development (NOGICD) Act 2010: Successes, challenges and panacea for the future.
Organised by the Lawyers in Oil and Gas Network, it will hold from March 24 to 25 at the Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos.
The group’s Secretary, Mrs Raqeebah Oloko, said in a statement: “The theme was chosen to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the NOGICD Act.
“The Act was enacted to promote local content in the Nigerian oil and gas industry.
“We want to look at the achievements of the Act for the last 10 years, its challenges and what can be done for a better future for local content in the industry.
“The Minister of State for Petroleum Resources will be the special guest of honour.
“The conference is designed for lawyers in the industry and those interested in the industry’s legal framework.
“Participants should expect an engaging event. Issues raised would be geared towards effecting the necessary changes to the Act and making it effective.”
