•••Says it would check political hirelings at the Sub-Nationals

The Ologbotsere of Warri Kingdom, Chief Ayrimi Emami, has strongly backed the ongoing strike by Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria, JUSUN and Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria, PASAN over their demand for financial autonomy for states’ judiciary and legislature, insisting genuine proponents of restructuring of the country, should join the call for President Muhammadu Buhari to sign the gazette for the immediate implementation of the financial autonomy.

Chief Emami, in a statement made available to newsmen, Wednesday April 7, declared that no one should be fooled by some governors’ claim that they were already implementing autonomy for states’ legislature and judiciary, “because any internal political arrangement that prevents state legislatures and judiciary from getting their monthly allocations directly from federal account, is a political hoax to further arm-twist the two other arms of government at the state level and blindfold unsuspecting members of the public into believing that reasonable governance is operating at the Sub-Nationals”.

The Warri Traditional Prime Minister stated: “It is the political rascality at the Sub-Nationals, that would give some persons the impetus to flout relevant sections of the 1979 Edict as it affects the selection process of a successor (OMOBA) for the respected throne of Olu of Warri. This same persons, gloat over their illegal action and decided to be silent over an aspect of the statement credited to the Special Adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina, where he advised that any dissension that exist over the selection of OMOBA for Warri Kingdom, should be resolved through due process. They are gloating, because they know that if constitutional financial autonomy is not implemented for states’ legislature and judiciary, they can easily influence the judiciary at the state level in their favour”.
