Fire Incident At NDU, Management Calls For Calm 🔥

it will be recalled that there was an unfortunate fire incident at the ICT building of the Niger Delta university on Friday 21st December 2024, although the Management of the university is Happy that no life was lost in the inferno, but it affected seriously the infrastructures of the institution.

Not a happy moment for the university but management of the prestigious Niger Delta university has called for calm while investigation into the ugly incident is in top gear.

According to the Registrar of the institution Mr Benjamin Joffa, the institution commends the cooperation of the students and the prompt response of the state Fire service.

“The Niger Delta University Management wishes to
inform the University Community and the general
public of an unfortunate fire incident last night
(20/12/2024) at the ICT Building of the University. The inferno specifically destroyed the building and facilities at the Mass Communication Department’s Radio Studio”.

“On the fortunate side no life was lost in the incident. While investigations are on to ascertain the cause of the incident, the University commends the efforts of persons especially the Bayelsa State Fire Service for their timely response that helped in ameliorating likely damages that may have occurred”.

“The University Management urges the University
community and the general public to remain calm
and await further information on the matter”.
