The Chairman, Osun State House of Assembly Committee on Environment and Sanitation, Benjamin Ogundipe has revealed that the state government took proactive measures in tackling the menace of flooding across the state.

Ogundipe made this known on Friday while chatting with journalists during the budget defence exercise by Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) at the State Assembly Complex.

Ogundipe while calling on residents to be mindful of the way they managed the environment also revealed that the state did the needful on flooding control.

According to him, “If we all take care of our environment, it will be to our advantage. I want to implore our people to take good care of their environment.”

He charged the ministry not to relent on its efforts to bring all the parks alive in the state.

In his response, the Special Adviser to the State Governor on Environment, Rufus Oyegbile promised to improve the services of the ministry in the state.

The Chairman, House of Assembly Committee on Finance and Appropriation, Taiwo Adebayo Olodo urged Osun Parks and Gardens Management Agency to turn all the recreation centres into revenue-generating bases. He also acknowledged the cooperation of various MDAs since the commencement of the budget defence exercise as he charged MDAs in the state to improve on their internally generated revenue in order to boost the state’s economy
