Foreign Affairs Ministry Dismisses Circulating Ambassadorial List as False

The Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs has debunked a list of ambassadorial nominees circulating on social media, labeling it false and misleading.

In a recent statement, Acting Spokesperson Kimiebi Imomotimi Ebienfa emphasized that ambassadorial appointments are solely the responsibility of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and no official nominations have been made.

“The public should disregard the unofficial list. Once finalized, Mr. President will forward the names to the National Assembly for screening,” the ministry stated.

This clarification comes amid rising interest in Nigeria’s diplomatic appointments following the recall of all ambassadors in September 2023.
