Former Anambra Deputy Governor, Dr. Nkem Okeke, has joined in a funeral and thanksgiving church service in celebration of the life and times of his mother-in-law, Late Mrs. Victoria Oyiboka Chukwudinma nee Ikwuemesi.

Late Mrs. Chukwudinma, according to her biography, was born in 1934 at Aba, Abia State, to the family of late Nze Josiah Ogbogu Ikwuemesi of Nkwelle Ogidi, and later became a career nurse, with work experiences in Nigeria, London, England, among others.

At a church service at St. Thomas Anglican Church, Mbanagu, Otolo Nnewi, Dr. Okeke described Mrs. Chukwudinma as a role model and exceptional woman; who took her as a son, not as son-in-law, and kept checking on him ever since he entered politics.

For the former Deputy Governor’s wife, Oby Nkem-Okeke, her mother, being celebrated, was an embodiment of generosity and kindness.

First son of the deceased, Barrister Emeka Chukwudinma, said their mother was a proud Igbo woman, who instilled strong Igbo values in her children.

They promised to hold on to the legacies of the late Mrs. Chukwudinma, and thanked all who joined in the celebration, including Labour Party Presidential Candidate, Mr. Peter Obi, represented by Engr. Professor Patrick Obi, Deputy Governor of Ebonyi State, Princess Patricia Obila, Speaker of Anambra State House of Assembly, Right Honourable Somtochukwu Udeze, Former Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Professor Kingsley Muoghalu, Managing Director of ABS, Sir Chido Obidiegwu among others.

Earlier during the church service attended by the Bishop of Nnewi Anglican Diocese, the Right Reverend Ndubisi Obi, the Vicar of the church, Venerable Okey Okeke, who urged the bereaved family to remain united under God, thanked God for blessing the deceased with longevity, and her family for taking care of her in old age.
