The Federal Science & Technical College (FSTC) Umuaka Imo State, Concerned Parents on Monday sent a “save-our-souls” message to the Minister of State Education, Rt. Hon. Goodluck Opiah, to urgently rescue the school from lack of basic infrastructure such as hostels, classrooms, workshops, and laboratories, among others.

The group said pioneer students of the school are now in JSS 3 and yet, the Federal Government has not lived up to the expectations in the areas of infrastructural development and adequate manpower.

In a letter written to the Minister and signed by Hon. Chimdi Chikwendu, a copy of which was sent to Track News, the Concerned Parents said, “We wish to let you know that FSTC Umuaka, one of the newly established six unity schools across the Nation, lacks basic infrastructure such as hostels, classrooms, workshops, and laboratories, among others.

The letter reads, “As the JSS 3 students are preparing to sit for Junior WAEC examinations, they still lack books and other facilities to prepare for such examination.

“It is equally important to let you know that Parents desire that you visit the FSTC Umuaka for an on-the-spot assessment of the facilities and the state of the Institution, especially given that your predecessor never visited the only new unity school in his state
