The All Progressives Congress (APC) has assured Nigerians that the pump price of petroleum products would not be increased in the near future.

Sen. John Akpanudoedehe, Secretary, APC Caretaker and Extra-Ordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC) gave the assurance at an event organised by APC Professionals’ Forum at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja.

Akpanudoedehe, who represented Gov. Mai Mala Buni, said the party has spoken against increase in price of petrol and that would not change.

According to him, President Muhammadu Buhari is a listening President and takes into commitment complaints of Nigerians.

“Another thing we have achieved recently is the issue in the pump price of petroleum, the party said no to it.

“It does not matter the circumstances, the party say the time is not ripe, that is the position of the party and they listened.

“Many of the things Nigerians complained about, Buhari already knows, once you bring anything or those issues before him, he will take it with commitment,” Akpanudoedehe said.

Meanwhile, the Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Mele Kyari, while condemning the re-emergence of petrol queue across the country, assured that the situation will normalize in hours.

On Tuesday, long queues hit Abuja filling stations as petrol scarcity resurfaced.

TrackNews Online had observed that customers were left stranded as most filling stations between Kubwa and Zuba were not dispensing petrol.
