“You see here we have the college of medicine, we have students’ classrooms. We also have the hospital itself. When we finish, we are going to be inviting quotations from International reputable hospital management teams to come and take over. So, the school will run differently, the hospital run differently. And the accommodation for both the lecturers of the school and the expatriate over there. And here in the hospital, we have a lot of medical facilities”

Governor said the Teaching Hospital and Medical School projects would be delivered for take-off in March this year.

“This young man called the MD, and the Executive director, you can see they are young people. Their blood is very hot, and so we are trying to deploy this building at the end of Match, this year, and am sure that they will match our pace. I am very confident, otherwise, they would have not been here by now.”

He commended the Niger Delta Power Holding Company for prompt response to distress call for interventions in electricity supply to the Teaching Hospital and other critical infrastructure of the Government.

The Managing Director of the Niger Delta Power Holding Company, Mr. Chiedu Ugbo congratulated Governor David Umahi for the massive development in the State and pledged to work assiduously to meet the electricity needs of the facilities.

“Am assuring you, from what we have seen, I must congratulate his Excellency, it is a very massive project. This is what we need in this country at this moment. It is only a visionary leader that can put up this project. Am sure this place is a virgin ground that His Excellency cleared, and now a medical city. We are very impressed, seriously impressed. And am assuring His Excellency that my company will do everything within our powers to make sure we assist in our own area, the provision of electricity. We are not just talking about the grid, electricity, we are going to back it with Solar. And His Excellency has just shown us the land, we will do that. Am giving you this assurance today. As soon as we go back, we put the process in motion to make sure we match the commissioning period for this project.”
