Governor Samuel Ortom has lauded the selfless and meritorious services rendered to Benue State by the retiring State Director of the Department of State Services, DSS, Mr Adebayo Ilupeju.

The Governor spoke Wednesday, October 12th, 2022 during a cocktail party and command performance in honour of the retiring security chief held at the new Banquet Hall of the Benue Peoples House, Makurdi.

Governor Ortom affirmed that Mr Ilupeju carried out his assignment with a high sense of professionalism and patriotism, stating that “He ensured justice and fairness to everyone in all circumstances about his office.”

He stated that the retiring state security chief, “never worked in isolation” but carried all persons along in the discharge of his duties for the good of all citizens.

He described Mr Ilupeju as an upright man and a worthy ambassador of the country because he demonstrated sterling leadership qualities without compromising his rules of engagement all through his service in the state.

The Governor maintained that even though he had worked with several heads of security agencies in the state, it was the first time he had the opportunity of hosting a retiring security chief, noting that the honour done to the retiring DSS State Director was a mark of appreciation for his diligent and impartial service
