Reducing the distance between people, markets, services and knowledge, or simply connecting people is a great part of what economic growth is all about. There’s a very strong positive correlation between a State’s or country’s economic development and the quality of it’s road network.
The Prosperity Administration ably led by His Excellency Sen. Douye Diri has increasingly displayed it’s awareness of the significance of a good road network to a people by continually embarking on the construction and rehabilitation of roads across Bayelsa State. This trend has ensured smooth travels by commuters, private and public vehicles, and logistics solutions. Building a road network is an integral part of development infrastructure that brings about a host of socioeconomic development to any Community. A good road network can easily be categorized as the single most important determinant of an area’s well-being and should never be taken for granted by any visionary leader.
Since the inception of the Diri-led Administration, the construction of a good road network was priotized as a veritable beverage to catalyzing socio economic development of Bayelsa State and the Prosperity Administration has continually ensured that not just roads but essential and good quality roads are constructed within the Yenagoa Metropolis and in all the Senatorial Districts as well, thereby continually reducing the distance between people, services and knowledge, a move that is of immense importance to the State.
The rehabilitation and beautification of the Etegwe/Edepie roundabouts has significantly reduced traffic Jam in the area, a menace that plagued that area of the metropolis since the creation of Bayelsa State. Today, commuters pedestrians, public and private vehicles as well as service vehicles easily make their way through the area without any man-made upheavals.
The completion of Sagbama-Ekeremor road has curbed the plights and sufferings of the people of the hinterlands that had limited access to the State capital and were considered in some quarters to be relegated to the background.
The ongoing construction of Bayelsa Palm-Igbogene outer ring road at advanced stage has further opend up the state capital that initially had one simple access road to the Yenagoa Metropolis and it’s environ.
The construction and completion of Elebele bridge in Ogbia LGA has brought the geographical trend of Urban-Rural Fringe as well as the Rural-Urban Fringe as the Elebele community is gradually linking up to the State capital, bringing about rapid development in the area .
The maintenance of 42 internal street roads within the city of Yenagoa has further brighten up the state capital from it’s prior disatisfactory looks.
The ongoing construction of Nembe-Brass road is a welcomed development that has further proven the Miracle Governor to be a visionary and passionate Leader, a road that was described by less visionary leaders in the past as having no economic importance despite being a historic beneficiary of the political strength of the people in the area. Billions of naira have been projected already for the completion of the road in order to harness the sociocultural and economic potentials of the good people of Nembe and Brass.
The construction of 46 fresh concrete and Asphalt driveways within the streets of Yenagoa is as a results of the people-oriented policies of the Prosperity Administration that is bent at ameliorating the state of distress of all inhabitants and dwellers in Yenagoa.
The completion of the first phase of Glory Drive road to Tombia-Igbogene road is an evidence -based debate that His Excellency Douye Diri is indeed a Godsent and must be given the time and space to execute the good plans he has for the good people of Bayelsa State.
The ongoing construction of Yenagoa-Oporoma road is an icing on the cake. Even before the creation of Bayelsa State, this road has been yearned for by the good people of Southern Ijaw Local Government Area but unfortunately, His Predecessors failed in linking up the area with good road network, but, His Excellency governor Diri, despite the capital intensive nature of the project took it upon himself to immediately start the construction of the road which is currently at advanced stage. The good people of Southern Ijaw can now easily access the state capital and beyond as we speak and are expected to access all the villages within the Oporoma environ as directed by His Excellency governor Douye Diri for the construction of link roads to all the communities within the Oporoma axis and beyond. The good people of Southern Ijaw Local are forever grateful 🙏.
The Miracle Governor after inspection personally directed the rehabilitation of a supposed failed section of the Berger roundabouts in order to keep to terms with his promise of protection of lives and properties. Also, His Excellency governor Douye Diri is completing the Sabagreia bridge that was handed to his administration by the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC). Modalities and resources have been put in place for the completion of the bridge.

Action speaks louder than words, His Excellency governor Douye Diri is one Governor that speaks less but comparatively does more. Douye Diri must continue, Bayelsa can no longer continually limp behind development and it is therefore expected of all well-meaning Bayelsans to encourage the Miracle Governor to continue taking the right steps in the right directions through His development-oriented projects and policies
