Various groups have continued to distance themselves from the recent killings that occurred in Zudai village of Bali local government council of Taraba State.

The killings which occurred last week and led to the massacre of twelve persons were alleged to have been carried out by a vigilante group.

The victims were alleged to have been mistaken for bandits terrorising communities in Bali and Gassol councils, Track News reports

The police, it would be recalled, told our correspondent that the victims were not bandits but that they were attacked by unknown invaders”.

One of such groups that came out to exonerate themselves on Sunday from the killings, is a vigilante group called Da Yardan Allan Mu Je Masu.

Claiming that they knew nothing about the killings, the group through its state chairman Gidado Sabuzy, said “it had nothing to do with the attack and has no any links whatsoever with the perpetrators of the evil act as their modus operandi is different from that of Da Yardan Allan Mu Je Masu.”

During the said attack, a lot of people, mostly women and children, according to him “were missing and cattle numbering over three hundred were rustled”.

He said, “our group is law-abiding and our efforts are to provide security in communities and foster unity among the people of Bali and Gassol councils.”

He urged those indicting the group to immediately cease destroying its claimed good image.

“We are not involved in killings, mining or cattle rustling. Our operation has yielded positive results with the return of peace in most villages of Gassol and Bali in particular and Taraba state before this barbaric crime.”

The group which explained how they have brought peace between farmers and herders in Bali and Gassol councils, said “businesses are now going day by day and night without hindrances
