Ibekimi Oriamaja Reports.
Oluwadarasimi Omojola, 4, was abducted by armed suspects in the Oye Local Government area of Ekiti, but his father Boluwaji Omojola was able to flee via the Itaji/Ijelu-Ekiti Road.
Oba Gabriel Ogundeyi, the Owajumu of Omu-Ekiti and the community’s traditional leader, verified the occurrence yesterday.
According to Ogundeyi, the incident happened on Friday at 6:00 p.m.
The boy was returning from Ayede-Ekiti with his father, who had managed to flee after being severely macheted by the kidnappers, according to the traditional ruler.
He said the injured farmer was being treated at an undisclosed facility.
Ogundeyi stated that security personnel and local hunters had been dispatched to track down and rescue the boy’s kidnappers.
However, as of press time, DSP Sunday Abutu, the Ekiti Command’s Police Public Relations Officer, had yet to confirm the incident.
