Gunmen kidnap couple in Osun

The Osun State Police Command has confirmed the kidnap of a couple by suspected kidnappers along the Ode-Omu-Gbongan road in Ayedaade Local Government Area of Osun State.

Confirming the incident, the Command’s spokesperson, Yemisi Opalola revealed that the police were on the trail of the kidnappers.

“I assure you that search and rescue operations have commenced and the police personnel are on the trail of the kidnappers,” he said.

Eyewitnesses revealed that the couple were kidnapped on Monday, May 8, 2023 around 5 am at Oogi Ojudo town.

The pair, Tracknews learnt, were travelling from Lagos to Osogbo where they went to purchase some goods when the kidnappers swooped on them and led them into the bush.

The husband later escaped from the kidnappers’ den, while the wife remains in captivity
