TRACKING____There was pandemonium at the premises of Guarantee Trust Bank at the Sani Abacha Expressway in Yenagoa this morning, as armed men on a supposed Toyota Camry Car stormed the Bank premise.

Some customers of the bank who witnessed the ugly incident said, a middle aged man was seen leaving the bank with a bag suspected to containing some amount of money.

Immediately the man entered a waiting tricycle (Keke), a masked gunman dressed on black clothing highlighted from the supposed Toyota Camry Car.

On sighting the gunman, the victim ran out of the keke and moved towards the bush path behind the bank entrance where he was shot on the stomach, and he fell. The gunman then shot him repeatedly on his abdomen before collecting the bag suspected to containing some amount of money, and zoomed off towards the popular Julius Berger roundabout in the waiting “Camry”.

Although, the policemen attached to the GTBank and its neighbouring Sterling Bank responded with scary shots, but could not hit the target due to the huge crowd at the bank premise.

On my arrival at the emergency ward in the Yenagoa FMC, the victim was already confirmed dead in the pool of blood.

His relations at the hospital were wailing helplessly, calling his name “Ibori”.

One of the relations, a male, summoned courage and granted me interview and said, the victim, late Ibori is from Isoko in Delta State. And that, he is into selling money in occasions and ceremonies.

According to him, Ibori used to go to the Bayelsa Branch of the CBN in his financial transactions, but wondered why he chooses the commercial bank today that is now taking his life.

Ibori’s body is now deposited at the FMC morgue at the time of filing this report.
