Dr Zuofa expresses his dissatisfaction on the way the Ministry of Health is handling the Covid 19 crisis in Bayelsa state.
Dr Zuofa Egberipou, a Pan Ijaw Youth leader, expresses utmost dissatisfaction on the way the Health sector in the state is handling the Covid 19 Crisis.
He said ” I’m calling on the Commissioner of Health, Dr Pabara Igwele, who is the head of the team in the Health sector to aggressively and passionately address the Covid 19 crisis in the state.
Bayelsans are not aware of the dangers of Covid 19 because the publicity to enlighten them is not effective. Everyday in the state, people are contacting the virus, and we are having mortality as a result of the Virus; but because there is no publicity to create awareness on the safety measures, residents of the state should imbibe, Covid 19 spread in the state is causing a crisis that is becoming unbearable.
If you go across Hospitals in the state, Hospitals are not provided with personal protective equipments to protect health workers and as such, health workers are exposed to the Virus.
I’m calling on the Ministry of health to start an awareness campaign in form of Radio Jingles,T.V programmes and using town criers in Villages to publicise safety measures needed to prevent the spread of the virus in the state.
The Ministry of health should provide PPE across state Hospitals.
These actions will help us greatly he said.
