How Bode George reacted after Tinubu said he was going to embark on healing process as president

The recent statement made by the President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, concerning his intention to embark on a healing process for Nigeria, has stirred a response from Chief Bode George, the Former National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party. Asiwaju had declared a few days ago that the nation needs to heal at every level and should be unified as one.

In an interview with Vanguard paper, Chief George stated that it was not enough for Asiwaju to say he wants the nation to heal. He believes that the former Lagos state governor needs to start by instructing his spokesperson to apologize to the Igbos. Chief George argued that if Asiwaju does not bring the Igbos back on board with reassurance, his leadership would be seen as a tribal project.

Hear him; “The healing should start with his spokesperson. He should first to all apologize. Words are like arrows, once they are fired, they cannot be withdrawn. If the boy has no apologies and the boss wants to go and sit at that table, may God bless Nigeria. If there is no trust from the people you are to lead, how can there be good governance?”

Chief George’s response to Asiwaju’s statement demonstrates his concern for Nigeria’s unity and inclusiveness. He believes that healing and unity should start from the top, particularly from the leaders of political parties. By calling on Asiwaju to instruct his spokesperson to apologize to the Igbos, Chief George is highlighting the need for political leaders to take responsibility for their actions and those of their party members. He is also emphasizing the importance of reconciliation and reassurance in bringing diverse groups together.
