How did this happen when the DSS were involved? – Rufai Oseni reacts as Senate halts screening of three ministerial nominees

Popular Nigerian TV host, Rufai Oseni has reacted to reports of the Senate halting the screening of three ministerial nominees over forgery allegations.

TrackNews reports that the Senate, yesterday, had stopped the screening of at least three ministerial nominees over reasons of forgery and age falsification.

Those whose screening were put on hold and asked to clarify issues were Prof. Joseph Utsev who is currently the Rector of Federal Polytechnic, Wannune, the home town of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, Senator George Akume.

The nominee in his resume indicated that he was born in 1980 and finished his primary education in 1989 at the age of nine, thereby drawing the attention of the Senate on how he would be in primary one at the age of three.

The two others were Senator Abubakar Sani Danladi, Taraba, who was alleged to have been banned by the Supreme Court from holding public office for ten years and Bello Mohammed from Sokoto State whose case had to do with his secondary school leaving certificate.

Reacting to the development, Oseni wondered how the nominees were able to forge their certificates despite the screening of the Department of State Service (DSS).

He questioned how the case of Mmesoma Ejikeme was successfully investigated.

Speaking via Twitter, he wrote, “Despite DSS screening we still have cases of forgery in the ministerial list,So how did we investigate Mmesoma’s case.”
