– The Sultan of Sokoto has condemned efforts by some preachers across the country to bring disunity among citizens

– Describing such preachers as ‘half-baked’ the Sultan urged Christians and Muslim to remain tolerant of each others’ religion

– He also warned against imposing religious beliefs on one another, stating that such could build up disaffection

Some preachers in Nigeria have been accused of causing disaffection among citizens across the country.

The Sultan of Sokoto, Muhammadu Sa’Ad Abubakar III, describing these preachers as ‘half baked’ said they specialise in preaching provocation and violence to the followers and audience.

Daily Trust reports that the Sultan represented by Emir of Keffi, Alhaji Shehu Chindo Yamusa III during the Auchi Day Celebration further urged all Muslims and Christians alike to respect each other’s religious belief and ensure such are not forced on fellow citizens.

“Muslims should seek knowledge so as to understand the reality of situation and know how to tackle ugly phenomenon. It is unfortunate that Islamic faithful misconstrued other knowledge, Islam knowledge is supreme and good since it help us to understand what is demand of us,” the Sultan said.

“I urge you to bury all unnecessary upheavals among ourselves and do what will unite us as a country than divide us and do the will of Allah. We must forgive and Allah will forgive us,” he added.

Meanwhile, TRACKNEWS.NG previously reported that the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA) under the leadership of the Sultan had approved Tuesday, January 8, as the first day of Jumadal-Hula 1440AH.
