Hon. Victor Inodunimi Isaiah, Executive Chairman of Brass Local Government Council, stated on Tuesday, July 5th, 2022, that his allegiance is only to Brass citizens who entrusted him with their mandate, TrackNews reports.

“When we were graciously elected by the people of Brass LGA, we swore with the Bible that we would always serve their best interests, and that is exactly what we have been doing since we were given the mandate to serve our people.”

“There is no way my allegiance will be to a few power-hungry individuals from the LGA who expect me to always do their bidding,” Isaiah said during a press conference in Yenagoa.

He bemoaned the calumny campaign waged against him by a local politician who has recruited others to malign and work against him.

“While I respect and involve every stakeholder in the scheme of things to move local government forward,” he declared, “let me state categorically that I am not and will never be a slave to any politician in Brass.”

“Since I became chairman, they have been fighting me in every way possible.” My offense is that I refused to kowtow and let them control the council for selfish reasons.

Since taking office, the council helmsman has maintained that the people of Brass LGA, not a single individual, should decide what happens in the council.

“We were not elected to be people’s slaves.” They intend to use us to divert development resources.”

He recalled how the sacrifice of a few brave and focused party faithful was required for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to now be overwhelmingly supported by the people of the area.

“Things have changed today, and many people can now discuss PDP in Brass.” We made significant sacrifices to make this happen because we knew that only the PDP could deliver the dividends of democracy to our people.

“Some of the politicians fighting us did not come to the LGA headquarters to protect PDP votes during collation because they were afraid of the opposition.” “In the last gubernatorial election, they couldn’t even produce results in their wards,” Isaiah said.

The Brass council boss urged local party leaders to unite in order for the Party to win the upcoming elections, stating that “entering 2023 with a united front is what will guarantee us victory.”
