The Governor of Ebonyi State, Dave Umahi has advised Igbos in Lagos to respect the indigenes of the state and their culture.

Speaking during an interview with TVC , Governor Umahi condemned the statement by a traditional ruler, Fredrick Nwajagu the Eze of Ajao estate who said he would invite IPOB group to Lagos to fight for Igbos. He also disclosed that he spoke with Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu who assured him that he would do all within his power to reconcile everyone in Lagos.

At 39:35 minutes into a video shared on YouTube, Governor Umahi said “Let me advise, Lagos is southwest there is no doubt about that. There are indigenes of Lagos State; when you visit a place and prosper in that place that should not make you to undermine the people of that state. It is wisdom I am talking. You can abuse me but it doesn’t change the fact that you can not place something on nothing. So I advise our people, in as much as you have all the freedom to do your business, you must also respect the culture of the people and respect the people

“I did not agree when a traditional ruler I saw on TV was saying that he will invite IPOB to come and fight, that is not good. So let us do our business with Wisdom. I have contacted my friend and brother Sanwo-Olu and he is not averse to doing everything possible to reconcile everybody in Lagos State but anywhere our people find themselves, let them live in peace and respect the indigenes of that place”.
