– Rabiu Kwankwaso said he and other APC defectors are regretting their choice to support President Muhammadu Buhari in 2014

– Kwankwaso also ondemned President Buhari’s approach to “revving the nation’s economy

People’s Democratic Party (PDP) presidential aspirant and former Kano state governor, Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso, said he and others who defected from All Progressives Congress (APC) are regretting their decision to support President Muhammadu Buhari against Goodluck Jonathan in 2014.

The senator made this statement in Owerri, Imo state, while condemning President Buhari’s approach to “revving the nation’s economy”.

The former governor reportedly said, he and those who left APC are fed up with the current administration, hence the defection to PDP.

The Nation reports that Kwankwaso also expressed worry over the poor state of infrastructure in the Southeast, adding that the anomaly can only be corrected by a change of government in the center by 2019.

He said: “From North to South, the citizens are looking for a government that would not pay emphasis on religion, ethnicity and culture but national development. PDP’s government in 2019 shall bring development and create the adequate platforms that provide jobs for teeming Nigerians.

“I have been in Southeast in last few days and I want to say that the state of infrastructure in this region is incredible. It is either that the government lacks the capacity to improve the economy or something. Electricity is important in this country. The people need a government that will be just and provide jobs for teeming young Nigerians.”

Meanwhile, TRACK NEWS earlier reported that Kwankwaso would officially announce his plan to run for 2019 presidency on Wednesday, August 29.

The senator representing Kano central will join the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)’s presidential list at a rally which will take place at the Eagle Square in Abuja.

A statement by the Kwankwaso Presidential Campaign Committee on Sunday, August 26, said dignitaries from all walks of life would be expected at the rally.
