I will unite Ijaw Youths and other ethnic nationalities if given the mandate—Sammy George

TRACKING _____ A frontline aspirant for the President of the Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) Sammy George said If he is elected he will ensure that the unity of the Ijaw Youths would be his priority.

He further emphasised that he will strive to ensure that he unite the Ijaws with other ethnic nationalities in country, adding that unity is the key to peaceful coexistence.

Sammy George spoke exclusively to Niger Delta Herald in a telephone interview noted that he would also revive the mobile parliament of the Ijaw Youth Council, stressing that the parliament is the medium which practical decisions are taken as it effects the Ijaw people.

Sammy George who is currently the Chairman of the Eastern Zone of the IYC comprising Rivers State and Akwa Ibom states further said that “ I Will replicate my style of leadership which has fostered unity in the zone and has brought progress “.

He expressed happiness For the proactive steps taken by the Rivers State government in tackling the coronavirus in the state, stressing that more should be done in sensitization of the people on the need to keep to healthy habits.

On the issue of multi national oil companies relocating their head offices to the Niger Delta, George said he will adopt the dialogue approach in ensuring that the companies comply with the federal government directives, while calling on the National Assembly to pass the PIB which would ensure that the oil producing communities benefit from their God given wealth.
