Ibekimi Oriamaja Reports

Sen. Walid Jibrin, the immediate past chairman of the People’s Democratic Party’s (PDP) Board of Trustees, has stated his continued support for the party and its presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.

Walid, a founding member of the main opposition party, stated that he will remain a member of the PDP and the party’s Board of Trustees for life and will continue to support the party’s candidates for the 2023 general elections until Atiku becomes president and other PDP candidates achieve their goals.

“I will continue contributing based on my enormous experience throughout this PDP and will continue in PDP until Atiku becomes President of Nigeria in 2023,” Sen. Jibrin said. I therefore urge all PDP members and Nigerians to come and vote for Atiku. I want to assure you that, despite my resignation as Chairman of the BoT, I am still a life member of the BoT.

Sen. Jibrin also praised the PDP state leadership for selecting him as chairman of the Nasarawa state presidential campaign council, stating that he would not disappoint and would give his all to help the party and its candidates win the general elections in 2023.

“I want to sincerely thank the state PDP chairman and his entire Exco, the elders, the caucus, and the entire PDP members in the state for appointing me as the chairman of Nasarawa state presidential campaign council just after I resigned as the BoT chairman to protect and strengthen the party.”

“This is considering my membership in the PDP since its inception in 1998, when I began strongly with the party, ensuring that I never left the party for a second to any other party from 1998 to date.” From the unit, ward, local government, zone, and state where I served as party leader, I have been a true party member.

“I also served as national ex-officio, NWC member, deputy national financial secretary, NWC member, BoT member, acting BoT secretary, confirmed BoT secretary, acting BoT national chairman, and finally BoT chairman.” Sen. Jibrin stated, “I have been working with all organs of the party.”
