Ibekimi Oriamaja Reports
Two suspects have been connected by the Kogi Police Command to the murder of Kehinde Ajayi, who was killed after purchasing a car.
The police are searching for the suspects for their roles in assisting a friend in the assassination of Ajayi on July 24, according to a statement made by the command’s spokesperson SP William Ovye-Aya on Wednesday.
Ovye claimed that the suspect fled after learning that police were looking into the incident and vowed not to stop until the suspects and everyone else involved in Ajayi’s murder were found, prosecuted, and punished.
In addition to the main suspected offender, who is already in our custody, he said, “We are strongly after them (accomplices) and we won’t rest until we catch up with them and bring them to face the wrath of the law.”
According to Ovye, Ajayi was allegedly lured and assassinated by his friend, who grew envious of him after he acquired a new car.
According to reports, the murderer deceived Ajayi into celebrating the purchase of a new car in a place where he and his alleged accomplices planned to have him killed.
“They murdered Ajayi on July 24 and hid her body in a friend’s home in the Felele neighborhood of Lokoja city.
But when the victim’s family informed us of his abduction and we started our inquiries, the bubble broke.
The spokesperson told Track News , “The main offender, his very friend and mastermind, were arrested and they started talking about who helped him carry out the act”
According to Ovye-Aya, investigations into the murder are still underway in order to secure justice and act as a deterrence to future crimes.
