The immediate past commissioner for agriculture Bayelsa state Dr. Doodei Week who indicated interest to contest for the chairmanship position of the Ijaw National Congress central zonal election took a royal visit to the Amanaowei of Anyama-Ijaw federated community, Tarakiri Clan, HRH King Amen Sariki (Anyan V), asking the royal father to bless and charge him to contest the election at the king’s Palace.
In his remarks, The Tarakiri Prince averred that his ambition is inordinate and selfless, noting that his, is to add value to the Izon Race, and continue with the aspirations of the Izon Icon Late Isaac Adaka Boro of Niger Delta.
The former commissioner started that Izon Land is not and would not be a conquered territory and it will never be.
The Tarakiri Clan born prince further stated that he will put his best and efforts to support the National Executives Committee led by Prof. Prof. Benjamin Okaba Ogele to realize the collective objectives and aspirations of the Ijaw people. Adding that, the contest is a family affair and all aspirants should play by the rules of the guidance and directives principles of the Constitution guiding the election.
