The case of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, has been adjourned to November 10, 2021.

Tracknews Online gathered that Justice Binta Nyako of the Federal High Court, Abuja, had postponed the case to November 10.

Ifeanyi Ejiofor, Nnamdi Kanu’s lead counsel, had asked the court to transfer him from the custody of the DSS to Kuje prison.

But Binta Nyako, the judge, refused the application.

Nnamdi Kanu was driven away by the DSS from the courtroom, and he will remain in their custody until the next hearing date.

The IPOB leader who pleaded not guilty has been facing charges of terrorism and an attempt to overthrow the Nigerian government.

Security operatives barred journalists, lawyers and staff of the FHC from entering the Court premises.

Others stopped from access the court room include former Anambra governor, Chukwuemeka Ezeife, Omoyele Sowore, Senator Andy Uba, etc.

From Transcorp Hilton through the Ministry of Justice and Abia House, a heightened presence of a combined team of Police, Army, Department of State Services operatives estimated to be over 3,000 can be seen

Recall that the Biafra leader was reportedly rearrested in Kenya and extradited back to Nigeria on the 27th of June, 2021.

The secessionist was then arraigned before Justice Binta Nyako who ordered his remand in the custody of the DSS until his next trial date which is July 26 and 27.

The DSS however failed to produce the Biafra activist in court on the said date citing logistics reasons, hence the postponement of trial to today.
