It Is Not Mandatory That Tinubu Must Be Sworn In, If Court Stops Him, That’s The End For Him -Amadi

A renowned scholar and Director of the Abuja School of Social and Political Thoughts, Dr Sam Amadi has alleged that if the Election Tribunal stops Bola Tinubu, the president-elect from being sworn in as the president on May 29, he would no longer be regarded as the president-elect again, except if the supreme court revalidates him as Presidential-elect.

Amadi who spoke in an interview with AIT alleged that it’s not compulsory that Bola Tinubu should be sworn in as the president because there is no requirement that says that the president-elect declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) must be sworn in because the court still has the power to remove him as the president-elect.

He allegedly said that if the court stops the swearing in of Bola Tinubu as the next president to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari, he would longer be regarded as the president-elect except the supreme court revalidates the declaration of Bola Tinubu by INEC as the president-elect.

He said, “It is not mandatory that Tinubu must be sworn in, if court stops him, that’s the end for him. There is no requirement that you must swear in the person decleared by INEC, that is not true. The court has the valid power to stop that declaration and if the court does so, the president-elect is no longer a president-elect, except if the supreme court revalidates the declearation of INEC.
