Cristiano Ronaldo has said it was the right time to move back to Manchester United and hailed it as the “best decision” he has ever made.

The Portugal captain netted twice on his second debut for United, as they saw off Newcastle 4-1 on Saturday.

Ronaldo arrived from Juventus at the end of the transfer window, as the Red Devils swooped in to ensure he did not end up at rivals Manchester City.

The 36-year-old feels things turned out for the best and that he hopes to help guide United to silverware.

“It’s the best decision I’ve made. It was the right time.

“I want to make history, help Manchester to have great results and win trophies,” Ronaldo said in an interview with Telefoot.
