TRACKING____One time Vice Chairman and Chairman of IYC in the Central Zone and leading aspirant of the position of Deputy President, Ijaw Youth Council, IYC Worldwide in the forthcoming IYC National Election, Comrade Saviour Olali yesterday gets the blessings of the Elders of Central Zone in Yenagoa.
After being introduced to the Elders by his campaign manager who is the pioneer Chairman of IYC in the Central Zone, Elder Timi Amara, Comrade Saviour Olali who formerly presented himself to the Elders of the Zone said, although as a human, he may have his own flaws but that this is not the first time he has deputised in the council, adding that the records of how he humbly and supportively stood by Jonathan Lokpobiri when he was his Vice in the Central Zone, are still there for all to see.
He assured that the same humility, respect for Elders and founding fathers, wisdom and doggedness with which he led the Central Zone is still in tact, and assured the Elders that he will never perform below their expectations when elected into office as the Deputy President of IYC Worldwide.
On his part, one of the founding fathers of IYC, Elder T.K. Ogoriba who expressed disappointment on how some current leaders of Council have derailed from the founding philosophy of the struggle, advised Saviour Olali to always be focused and think of how to promote and project the Ijaw Nation first.
While expressing his admiration for Olali, Elder T.K. Ogoriba said although he never wanted to do this for any aspirant but the spirit has led him to bless Saviour Olali, but that will be done when he toss the bottle cap of the drink in his hand 3 times on the ground and it opened ones, but fortune enough for Saviour Olali, the cap opened on its first tossing and there was a loud ovation, and the founding father by himself conducted the traditional prayers for the smooth sail of Comrade Saviour Olali.
Recalled that Saviour Olali who is known as the most admired Zonal Chairman, in his tennure, doggedly and gallantly protected Ijaw youths and opened doors of opportunities for many which got some employed in various agencies including the Nigerian Content Development Board, Federal University Otuoke, Federal Polytechnic Ekowe and other companies too numerous to mention.
Hence the need to bring back such experienced hands who have the spirit of the struggle to bring back the struggle to its pride of place. Don’t forget the Ijaw Struggle has a spirit behind it, and only those who are receptive to the spirit and have it’s leading should be elected. Fortunately Saviour Olali has that spirit in sufficient measures. Smooth sail our beloved and gallant comrade.
