Izunaso, Mbata, Ndubueze get APC senatorial tickets in Imo

Business mogul Prince Alex Mbata has emerged the senatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Owerri zone.

Mbata polled 425 votes to win the primary held at the State Secretariat, Owerri, Imo State capital.

Dr (Mrs) Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu withdrew from the race while Jerry Chukwueke polled 14 votes and Kemdi Opara got votes while 8 votes were voided.

In Okigwe (Imo North), Patrick Ndubueze scored 278 votes to clinch the ticket while former Governor Chief Ikedi Ohakim withdrew two days to the contest.

In Orlu (Imo West), Senator, Osita Izunaso emerged through consensus.

In the Orlu, Orsu and Oru East Federal Constitutency, Chief Canice Nwachukwu (Omeogo) emerged victorious.
