Ibekimi Oriamaja Reports

Goodluck Jonathan, a former president, advised young people to support the presidential candidate who will best serve the needs of the country.
According to Track News, Jonathan made the request on Wednesday while visiting Abdulsalami Abubakar, a former head of state, in Minna, Niger State.

The president claimed that right now, all the country needs is a leader who has its best interests at heart.

He advised them to pick a candidate they think will lead and serve in that capacity very well, saying that any candidate who views the nation as a project will preserve it.

“I urge the young people to vote for a leader they think would serve us well, someone who will put the needs of the group and the nation first; a leader who won’t sacrifice our interests for their own, especially one who sees Nigeria as a project.

Jonathan stated, “A leader is also a servant, and as president, you are to lead and to serve.”

Jonathan remained unbiased over who would make the ideal successor to President Muhammadu Buhari.

Jonathan stated the next president must come from any political party that supported Nigeria’s unity while speaking as a guest of honor on the topic “Igbo Quest for Nigeria” on Saturday.

At the celebration for Nigerian politician and businessman Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu’s 80th birthday, the former leader provided the advice.
