– Atiku Abubakar, PDP’s presidential candidate, has said that he will take his campaign to Ekiti and Ondo on Monday, January 14

– According to the Atiku/Obi campaign council, the rally will also be taken to Osun on Tuesday, January 15

– Other southwest states where the campaign rally will be staged are Lagos (on Thursday, January 17) and Ogun (on Saturday, January 19)

Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, will on Monday, January 14 storm Ekiti state with other leaders of the party in continuation of his campaign throughout Nigeria..

Lere Olayinka, the director of media and publicity of the Atiku/Obi PDP campaign council in Ekiti, said in a statement issued in on Saturday, made available to TRACKNEWS.NG that the presidential campaign train will get tot Ikere-Ekiti before moving to Ado Ekiti, to visit traditional rulers at the palace of the Ewi of Ado Ekiti, Oba Rufus Adejugbe.

Olayinka, who said further that members and supporters of the PDP are expected at the state Pavilion, NTA Road in Ado Ekiti, venue of the rally.

He added that the rally will also take place in Akure, Ondo state on Monday, move to Osun on Tuesday, January 15; Lagos state on Thursday, January 17, and Ogun on Saturday, January 19.

He said the rally was billed for the Oluyemi Kayode Stadium, Ado Ekiti, situated at the center of the State capital but the State Government declined only to approve the use of the State Pavilion, located at the outskirt of the town.

Olayinka urged the people of the State to troop out en-masse to give rousing welcome to the PDP presidential candidate, who he declared as the “next president of Nigeria by the grace of God.”

Concerning the parallel campaign council inaugurated by Biodun Olujimi, the Senate minority leader, Olayinka said: “That one goes to no issue. The campaign council at the national level is relating with the chairman, Professor Kolapo Olusola and the director general, Chief Dipo Anisulowo.

He added: “The stand of the party as well as the campaign council, which Senator Olujimi must abide with is that those in the House of Assembly, who are still claiming to be PDP members but working against the party by being instrumental to the suspension of 12 assembly members as well as the sack of elected council chairmen and councilors who are members of the party will not be accorded recognition.”

Meanwhile, TRACKNEWS.NG reported that the campaign council of the PDP had alleged that some hoodlums are planning to disrupt the Jos campaign rally of its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.

The Plateau state PDP chairman, Damishi Sango, in a statement on Friday, January 11, alleged that the party had gotten credible reports that sponsored thugs were preparing to harass, intimidate and attack PDP officials at a scheduled rally on Saturday, January 12, at the Polo Field, Jos.
