By: Mohammed Oluwatimileyin Taoheed reports,

Mr. Bola Tinubu, who is the Presidential Candidate of All Progressive Congress, has confirmed that he submitted his presidential nomination forms to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Track News Nigeria learnt that the forms were supposed to contain the identity of Tinubu’s running mate but the business tycoon and ex-governor of Lagos State did not disclose the name of his would-be Vice President.

The mega politician again sparks the suspense of Nigerians on whom he has decided to be his running mate for the 2023 elections.

As gathered by our correspondent Mr. Taoheed, there have been speculations that Tinubu will run on a Muslim-Muslim ticket, a controversial issue that have amounted to disagreement from those in Christendom and some concerned citizens of the Islamic religion.

Track News Nigeria has earlier reported that the deadline stipulated by INEC ends today, after which the commission will reject subsequent submission.

Tinubu asserted that he has submitted his nomination forms to INEC on Wednesday, June 15.

“As stipulated by the electoral law and INEC guidelines and timetable, the standard-bearer of the All Progressives Congress, HE Asíwájú Bola Tinubu, has returned his duly completed nomination forms to INEC,” a statement issued on Friday from the Tinubu Media Office by Tunde Rahman read.

The statement noted: “The forms were returned on Wednesday, June 15, two days ahead of schedule.

“We wish to reiterate that HE Asíwájú Tinubu stands ready to contest the February 25, 2023, presidential election to deliver progressive good governance to our people.”
