TRACKING____The Speaker, Kano State House of Assembly, Hamisu Chidari, has been named among those wanted by the Federal Government for violating COVID-19 protocols.

On May 23, the first batch of the list of violators released contained 90 names – 63 Nigerians and 27 foreigners.

However, on May 28 additional names were announced for the same offence.

Boss Mustapha, Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) and Chairman Presidential Steering Committee (PSC), had issued a travel advisory to inbound passengers.

The government ordered that travellers from Brazil, India and Turkey must observe a seven-day quarantine at port health facilities.

The defaulters, who names have been published, entered Nigeria via the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) Lagos and Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport (NAIA) Abuja, between May 8 and last week.

The SGF declared them Persons of Interest (POI) for posing “considerable danger to overall public health” and for failing to comply with extant guidelines.

DAILY POST gathered that Chidari returned to Nigeria through the NAIA, from Saudi Arabia, through an Ethiopian Airline flight on May 17, 2021.

The Speaker allegedly presented a PCR test result found to be fake upon arrival.

In December 2020, Chidari, ex-Kano Deputy Speaker, emerged as the new Speaker after the resignation of his predecessor AbdulAziz Garba Gafasa.

Chidari (passport number withheld) is number 66 on the list of 132 violators. The full list published by the PSC below:
