The Majority leader of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Muktar Bajeh, has resigned from his position.

TrackNews learnt that Bajeh on Thursday made the disclosure, saying his resignation was necessary due to a future responsibility that requires his prompt and urgent attention.

The lawmaker in a letter signed by himself and addressed to the Speaker of the House Rt. Hon Matthew Kolawole, dated March 20 said the decision to voluntarily resign from his position was indeed a difficult one.

Bajeh in the letter advanced that “After much thought and with deep regret, I must inform the media that I have made the difficult decision to voluntarily resign from my position as the majority leader of the Kogi house of assembly.

“I write to convey my resignation as the majority leader of the Kogi state House of Assembly. I represent the good people of the Okehi local government in the assembly.

My resignation is due to a future responsibility that requires my prompt and urgent attention.

“I appreciate this wonderful privilege to have served since the inception of this honourable house as the Chief whip and later elevated to my present position as the Majority leader of the house.

“I wish to express my profound gratitude to my colleagues in the house, especially the honourable speaker with whom I have worked thus far.

“I also wish to appreciate the executive Governor of Kogi state, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello.

“Accept the assurances of my esteemed regards. Yours faithfully.”
