Barely nine days to Kogi governorship election, Action Alliance (AA) continue to get more support across the state for its candidate, Otunba Olayinka Braimoh.

At the party’s campaign rally in Koton Karfe, Kogi local government area on Wednesday, no less than 300 supporters of All Progressives Congress (APC), Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Accord Party decamped to Action Alliance, declaring their support for Braimoh.

The defectors, who tore the membership cards of their former parties, said they were endeared to Otunba Braimoh due to his comprehensive and all encompassing manifesto, which they noted are urgently needed to salvage the state.

Speaking on behalf of the defectors, Jibril Abdul Razak, a former PDP member pledged their support to the actualization of the dream of Otunba Braimoh to emerge as next Governor of the Confluence State.

According to him, the defectors are committed to delivering 100% votes to the AA governorship candidate to enable him help the State out of poverty.

The Chairman of AA in the Local Government, Hon. Yunusa Zakari described the defection as a welcome development and assured the new members of equal treatment.

Hon. Zakari urged them to mobilise more persons to join the party towards salvaging poverty from the State.

Braimoh, who was overwhelmed by the surprise decamping, told the defectors that they will not regret their actions if voted into power.

He promised to provide the needed visionary leadership to give the State a turn around from “poverty to prosperity.”

The governorship candidate assured of his determination to make public schools an enviable place if voted for.

Otunba Braimoh had earlier paid a traditional homage to the palace of the Ohimege Igu of Koton Karfe where he solicited the prayers of the monarch for his ambition.

The Ohimege Igu, Alh. Abdul Razak Isah-Koto urged Otunba Braimoh and his campaign train to be law abiding in their campaign.
